Hello! and Welcome Everyone to Universal Law 25 – The Law of Meditation.

This is our last Blog of 2024 and I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for reading the blog, and to thank my online community for practicing and inquiring together over 2024.

Sending all the blessings of the returning light to you and your loved ones and a Very Happy Holiday Season to you all.

The Universal Law of Meditation is quietening yourself, in an environment away from the hurly burly of life, such as to hear the still quiet voice of the Divine, the Goddess, the Universal, God.

Taking time to listen allows you to hear the seeds of guidance and wisdom in response to your prayers. Sometimes we receive an immediate response to our questions and prayers, and more often, simply being still, and quietening ourselves, allows space for seeds to be planted which grow over time and emerge into our lives.

During meditation we have an opportunity to explore the resources available to us. It is here we find our true selves. We live in heaven or in a hell realm according to our inner world. Meditation allows your divine self to expand so as to free ourselves from hell and create heaven on earth.

Formal meditation is not for everyone, and some people find their quiet, still moments out walking in nature or gardening, or in painting, playing music, or other creative pursuits where the chatter of the mind falls away. Anything that stills the mind for a moment allows you to slip through the gap into divine energy.

There are many ways to practice a more formal meditation and one of my personal favourites is a Beginners Loving Kindness meditation which I will share with you here.

To start, create an environment free from distraction where you will be undisturbed for as long as you wish to meditate. If you are beginning, anything from 5 minutes is of benefit.

One of my teachers, Davidji says, “Comfort is Queen!” so either sit or lie down in a place where you are comfortable, you really do not have to sit cross legged on the floor.

Begin by noticing where your body is in contact with the chair / bed / floor and allow yourself to relax into that support. Be relaxed and alert. Feel the support of the earth under the chair / bed / floor.

Bring your awareness to your breath as it enters and leaves your body, notice where you experience this, maybe the rise and fall of your tummy, or as the air enters your nostrils – there’s nothing to do here other than put your awareness onto your breath. Notice the breath entering and leaving your body. Allow your eyelids to drop gently closed.

As you settle begin to repeat the following words to yourself, inside your head, in whatever way works for you. You may say the words in rhythm with your breathing in and out, or you may simply repeat them as and when.

Let’s begin. Speak them through a few times out loud, and then say them quietly on your own.

May I be happy, May I be well, May I be strong, May I be at peace.  Repeat 5 times.

Next, bring to mind those you love- family and friends, your inner circle, and repeat the same words substituting “I” with “You” as you send your words from your heart to theirs.

May you be happy, May you be well, May you be strong, May you be At Peace. Repeat 5 times.

Next, bring to mind a stranger, someone you don’t know well, maybe someone who serves you in a shop, or someone you saw in the park and repeat the words, bringing this person to mind.

May you be happy, May you be well, May you be strong, May you be at peaceRepeat 5 times.

Now, expand from where you are to include everyone in the world.

May you be happy, May you be Well, May you be Strong, May you be At Peace. Repeat 5 times.

And lastly, say the words to yourself:

May I be Happy, May I be Well, May I be Strong, May I be At Peace. Repeat 5 times.

Little Weekly Practice:

Each day, practice the Beginners Loving-Kindness Meditation or another meditation practice – whatever works best for you.

Question:

What is the still quiet voice of the divine saying?
