10-week Living-Gratitude Course
How It Works: There are ten online taught sessions (of 45 minutes duration), and ten Little Weekly Practices between sessions.
Each Little Weekly Practice is Introduced in your session, and at the next session you share what, if anything, you discovered from practicing (or not practicing) it.
During your 10-week Living-Gratitude Course you curate your own unique set of practices, that speak directly to you, and uplift you in Living-Gratitude in your day-to-day life.
Your Living-Gratitude Course is fully supported with a workbook and journal.
What will I get out of it?
A greater sense of enjoyment, peace and fulfilment in your day-to-day life, happiness, a boosted immune system, good physical and mental health, improved sleep, stronger resilience in the face of challenging circumstances and great relationships.
The top 7 benefits of Living-Gratitude:

1. Grateful people are happier
Gratitude influences our neural mechanisms. The feelings associated with gratitude are evoked in the right anterior temporal cortex.
The brain receives expressions of gratitude and releases the feel-good neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine, which put us in a better mood and increase our overall happiness.

2. The people around grateful people are happier.
Truly the secret of bringing joy into our lives is to bring joy into the lives of others. In expressing our gratitude to those around us, we also bring joy into their lives. It becomes a virtuous cycle, a win / win.

3. Grateful people have improved mental health.
Gratitude improves psychological health. It reduces a multitude of toxic emotions, ranging from envy and resentment to frustration and regret. Robert A.E Emmons, PhD., a leading researcher, has conducted multiple studies on the link between gratitude and wellbeing. His research confirms that gratitude effectively increases happiness and decreases depression and anxiety.

4. Grateful people sleep better.
Researchers at Manchester University conducted a study on 299 people of all ages, 40% of whom had sleep disorders. Questionnaires were used to determine levels of gratitude and measure sleep performance. They found gratitude resulted in more positive and less negative thoughts prior to bedtime which in turn had a positive impact on both duration and quality of sleep.

5. Grateful people are healthier
If a person could do only one thing to increase their mental health, expressing gratitude might be it. Martin Seligman, a pioneer in the field of Positive Psychology, remarked, “when we take time to notice the things that go right – it means we’re getting a lot of little rewards throughout the day.”
When a person receives or expresses gratitude, dopamine releases, thus making a connection between the behaviour and feeling good, and boosting your immune system.

6. Grateful people are more resilient.
Studies have shown that gratitude is one practice we can use to help dispel stress hormones and bring the body back to functioning more optimally. One such study, included in a Positive Psychology article, ‘The Neuroscience of Gratitude and How it Affects Anxiety and Grief’ is from McCraty and Colleagues (1998).
In their study on gratitude and appreciation, they found that participants who felt grateful showed a marked reduction in one of the stress hormones, cortisol, and had better cardiac functioning. They were also shown to be more resilient to emotional setbacks and negative experiences.

7. Grateful People have better relationships.
Gratitude enhances empathy and reduces confrontation. Research demonstrates that Grateful people are more likely to behave in a socially friendly way, even when others behaviour is not friendly. In one such study conducted by the University of Kentucky in 2012, study participants who ranked higher on the gratitude scales were less likely to retaliate against others, even when given negative feedback. They experienced more sensitivity and empathy toward other people and a decreased desire to seek revenge.
Said somewhat more poetically, our Living-Gratitude course gives you a new world to live in, and a new relationship to being alive, where you become present.
In being present we become grateful for and amazed by the mystery, majesty, and magnificence of life.
“I am wholly willing to be here between the bright silent thousands of stars and the life of the grass pouring out of the ground.”
Wendell Berry, Poet
